As a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) you deliver community-based mental health services to the children, adults and families on your caseload — skills training, rehabilitative services, crisis support and service coordination. You work under the supervision of a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA), and you spend most of your week out in the community: homes, schools, clinics and wherever else the people we serve live their lives. This is hands-on work for someone who is organized, steady in a crisis, and keeps their documentation current.
What you'll do
- Provide rehabilitative skills training and psychosocial services in home, school and community settings
- Complete assessments and gather the information each person's treatment plan is built on
- Write and update person-centered treatment plans with measurable goals, under LPHA supervision
- Document every service the day it is delivered, meeting timeliness and content standards
- Track authorizations and service utilization so each person receives the care they are authorized for
- Respond to crisis situations and follow safety, de-escalation and reporting protocols
- Coordinate care with LPHAs, physicians, schools, courts, caregivers and community partners
- Maintain the weekly caseload and direct service hours expected for the role
- Take part in supervision, staffings, audits and required trainings
- Protect client confidentiality and follow HIPAA and agency policy at all times
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a human services field (psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, human services, rehabilitation, child development, gerontology, criminal justice, education or a related field), OR a bachelor's degree in any field with at least 24 semester hours in a human services field
- Meets the state definition of a Qualified Mental Health Professional – Community Services (QMHP-CS)
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and current auto insurance
- Able to pass a criminal background check and all required registry checks
- Comfortable working in an electronic health record and documenting the same day
- Strong written communication and time management
Nice to have
- One or more years providing direct behavioral health services
- Experience with children and adolescents as well as adults
- Crisis intervention or de-escalation certification (CPI, SAMA or similar)
